How to Register for your USER ID number:   ^ to top
Registration allows you to use Instant Impact!, purchase a technical support ticket, subscribe to our newsletters, or purchase retail products. Just fill in the required information and we will email your USER ID to you!

To REGISTER you can either click on the REGISTER button at the top of any of the pages on this website, or click here to go to the register page. Fill in the neccessary information and a USER ID number will be emailed to you.


How to Add Information Products to your Email white list:   ^ to top
In order to register, you must have a valid EMAIL ADDRESS so that we can send you your registration information. Your email provider may mis-categorize our email as spam or junk mail if you do not add us to your accepted list.

For AOL users:
In your AOL mailbox add the following e-mail address to your 'People I know' list: sales@infoprod.com
For AOL versions earlier than version 9.0 you will need to set your Main Controls instead.

For EarthLink users:
You need to add sales@infoprod.com and techsupport@infoprod.com to you safe list.

If you are not receiving our emails:

  • Check your Earthlinkg webmails "Suspect Email" folder
  • Add the sending domain "infoprod.com" to your address book

If you have SpamBlocker turned on, suspect messages are automatically sent to your Suspect Email folder if the domain is not in your addresss book.

Moving email from your Suspect Email Folder:

  • While in the "Suspect Email" folder, select any email messages you see from either sales@infoprod.com or techsupport@infoprod.com and then from the pull down menu select the option: "Move to Inbox and Add Contact"
  • This not only moves the message but adds the domain to your Earthlink Addressbook.

Adding to Address Book:

  • Go to your Address Book tab in Mail view.
  • Click on the "Add" button to insert a new contact.
  • Fill in the email address of the sender: Sales@infoprod.com
    Repeat step and add TechSupport@infoprod.com

If you have problems following these steps please contact Earthlink's technical support.

For Gmail users:
In your Gmail mailbox add the following e-mail address to your contacts list: sales@infoprod.com
If you find Information Products email in your spam box, you can use the 'Not Spam' button to unmark the misclassified email.

For Hotmail users:
Login to Hotmail and get into your mailbox. Choose 'Options' (top right, next to 'Help') and under 'Junk e-Mail', choose 'Safe and blocked senders'. Select 'Safe senders' and in the space provided, enter 'infoprod.com' and click 'Add to list'.

For Yahoo users:
Login to yahoo and open your mailbox. Choose 'Options' to go to the 'Mail Options' page. Choose 'Filters' and click 'Add'. In the top row, labeled 'From header', make sure 'contains' is selected in the pull-down menu and enter 'infoprod.com' in the text box next to this pull-down menu. At 'Move the message to' (bottom of the screen), select 'Inbox' from the pull-down menu, then choose 'Add filter'.

For Other providers:
Add the following e-mail address to your address book/contacts list: sales@infoprod.com

How to Login to this website:   ^ to top
Once you have registered, you can Login to this website to update your profile information, purchase a technical support ticket, subscribe to our newsletters, or purchase retail products.

At the top right of every page on this website is the LOGIN SECTION. from here you simply type in the EMAIL address and PASSWORD you used when you registered and click on the LOGIN button.

QUICK TIP: If you forgot your password, you can click on the "forgot your password?" link in the login section and your password will be reset and a new password will be emailed to you.


How can I check to make sure that I have the latest version of my software?:   ^ to top
You can check to see what version you have install by running your program and then opening the Help/About menu at the top of the program.

The latest version of your Information Products software is ALWAYS available online. If you have a program disk, it is more than likely a few versions old (since we have moved to a web-based delivery system).

Visit the PRODUCTS section of this website to view the most current versions available for download.


How to use the program HELP system:   ^ to top
All Information Products' software has a built in help system that allows you to access a comprehensive list of topics covering both basic and advanced features.

To access the HELP system from anywhere in the program, click on the HELP menu item and select CONTENTS. You can also press the F1 key on your keyboard to launch the system HELP. Iff you are on a specific pagte or section of the program where there is a HELP button, you can click on it and receive help information SPECIFIC to the section of the program that you are in.

Once you have the HELP system open, you can easily search for a specific topic by typing it in the INDEX and clicking on the DISPLAY button at the bottom of the page. HINT - a useful search is what we call the "PRE" search. By typing "pre" in the INDEX search box it will display the PREDEFINED labels, letters, postcards, queries, and reports in the display section for you to select.


The HOT TOPICS section of the Program and how to use it:   ^ to top
From the Main Screen of either Instant Impact! or Instant Impact! GOLD there is a row of black buttons running up the right side of the screen. These quick launch items include one called HOT TOPICS. If you click on this item, it will take you to the HOT TOPICS page which contains a number if items including setting up the software, program basics, and beyond the basics.

Each topic has 2 icons to the left of it - a BOOK and a PLAY BUTTON. If you click on the BOOK, it will load the program HELP system to the topic you choose. If you click on the PLAY BUTTON it will open a web browser window to a QUICK TIP VIDEO TUTORIAL that has been written to cover that specific topic.


How to Purchase a Technical Support Ticket:   ^ to top
If you have exhausted all of the available resources including this Frequently Asked Questions page, you may choose to PURCHASE technical support from Information Products. Please be aware that a technical support ticket covers only 1 incident, and does NOT include training issues (issues covering the USE of our software).

You will need to know certain things regarding the issue like what you were doing when you received it and what Windows Operating System you are using when you fill out the support request. The specifics are outlined on the webpage dedicated to this.

How to Load an IPI farm - the easy way:   ^ to top
Any new farm file that you receive from your title company will be in the IPI format (a proprietary Information Products format). First of all, you will need to have the latest version of our program installed on your computer. To find out how to upgrade to the latest version of Instant Impact! free on this site, please click here. To find out how to upgrade to the latest version of Instant Impact! GOLD, please click here.

If you already have the latest version of the program installed, then here is the trick - all you have to do is DOUBLE-CLICK on the IPI file and it will AUTOMATICALLY load into the program! If the program is not running when you do this, it will also ask if you want to VIEW the farm now!

Installing the software - it stalls at 99%:   ^ to top
You may experience this when you install any of our software. When you first run the installer it needs to "unpack" various files before it can use them. It may appear to stall at 99%, but it is actually still working. A message asks that you please be patient, so give the software a little time before you stop the install and try again.

If yout tried to cancel the installer and it would not allow it or the program appears to be locked up, please perform a CTRL + ALT + DELETE on your keyboard to launch the TASK MANAGER. You will see the installer in the window that appears - just click on it and choose END PROCESS.


Installing the software in SAFE MODE:   ^ to top
If you have tried to install the software repeatedly and it will not seem to allow you to accept the license agreement, or it continually stalls during install, you may need to install the program in SAFE MODE.

SAFE MODE is a special "SAFE" loading mode where only essential Windows tasks are loaded by default - not your normal startup items. Any item that may be blocking our program from installing will not be running if you boot your computer into SAFE MODE.

To boot up in SAFE MODE, restart your computer and press the F8 key repeatedly on your keyboard as soon as your screen goes black. If you reach the Windows screen where it shows your operating system, you missed it - restart and try again. You will know that it worked corectly if you see a black screen that says SAFE MODE on it. Choose option #1 and wait for Windows to finish loading. Once it is finished, run the program installer, open the software, make sure the USER SETUP is filled out and open the CONTACT MANAGER to make sure it is all working. Now you can restart your computer - it will boot up normally.


Error Type = 91 when loading the Contact Manager:   ^ to top
For a few users, there is a special circumstance where trying to enter the Contact Manager generates a string of error messages, the first error usually being the ERROR TYPE = 91. This error occurs when you DOUBLE-CLICK on the Contact Manager icon. To avoid this error, only SINGLE-CLICK on any buttons within the program - you will not receive this error.

If you are getting a series of errors, you can close the program down and try again using the TASK MANAGER. Perform a CTRL + ALT + DELETE on your keyboard to launch the TASK MANAGER. Make sure you are on the PROCESSES tab. Click on the IMAGE NAME header to sort the list ALPHABETICALLY. Scroll down to the "N"s and you will see NTVDM.EXE in the window that appears - just click on it and choose END PROCESS.


I received an IPI farm from my title company and I cannot load it:   ^ to top
The only farm format that you can currently get from your title company to load DIRECTLY into our software is IPI (our own proprietary format). This new format can only be loaded using the newest version of either Instant Impact!. If you try to load it in any of the older versions, it will not recognize the format and generate an error.

I have Instant Impact! GOLD 5.21 and I cannot load an IPI farm:   ^ to top
The only farm format that you can currently get from your title company to load DIRECTLY into our software is IPI (our own proprietary format). Although Instant Impact! GOLD 5.21 does have processing in place to handle the new format, it cannot be loaded without taking a few steps first.

If you have not already done so, save the IPI farm file to the C:/FMSWIN/DATABASE folder on your computer. Once you have it saved, navigate to this folder by holding down the START key on your keyboard, then tap the E key. DOUBLE-CLICK on your C:DRIVE to open it, then the FMSWIN folder to open it, then the DATABASE folder to open it. RIGHT-CLICK on the IPI farm and choose RENAME then change the 3-digit extension from .IPI to .MDB. Now the program can process the farm correctly when you go into the Farm Manager to view it.


Issues when upgrading from Instant Impact! to Instant Impact! GOLD:   ^ to top
If you choose to upgrade from Instant Impact! (our freeware product) to Instant Impact! GOLD (our retail product) there are a few things to be aware of:

  1. Any farms that you create in Instant Impact! GOLD will NOT load / view in Instant Impact! - it is a different format.
  2. Instant Impact! GOLD can open both Instant Impact! GOLD and Instant Impact! farms.

Issues to consider when upgrading Instant Impact! GOLD to the latest version:   ^ to top
When you choose to upgrade your older version of Instant Impact! GOLD (anything version 5.21 or older), you will need to be aware of a few things:

  1. The new Import Wizard will NOT be able to use any of your old user-defined templates - you will need to recreate them.
  2. The new version of Instant Impact! GOLD has TUTORIALS on the HOT TOPICS page covering the new Import Wizard.
  3. You CANNOT uninstall the new version and reinstall the older version of the software.

How to shutdown the program when it stops responding:   ^ to top
Our software, like any other software on the market is susceptible to operating system issues that may cause our program to become unresponsive. If you have tried to shutdown the program and it appears to be "locked up", you can shut it down using trhe TASK MANAGER.

Perform a CTRL + ALT + DELETE on your keyboard to launch the TASK MANAGER. Make sure you are on the PROCESSES tab at the top of the screen. Click on the IMAGE NAME header to sort the list ALPHABETICALLY since it can be quite long. Tap on the "N" key on your keyboard to move to the tasks that begin with N. Locate the NTVDM.EXE and click on it. Choose END PROCESS and when you get the Task Manager warning window select YES to end the process.


Will I lose my GOLD license if I format my Hard Drive? (How do I re-activate my GOLD Software):   ^ to top
Re-formating your hard drive will not affect your license allocation, re-authorising on the same machine does not use up a license.

Your active licenses can be accessed through this website in the MY PROFILE section once you login. Any activation that you have already used is stored in the 'Software Licenses' section. After you have formatted your Hard Drive you will need to reinstall the software, then when you run it the first time it will ask to activate the software. Choose 'Activate Now' and enter the License Number and Activation Key (the System ID Number will pull in automatically when you enter a valid License) then click on the 'Submit Acttivation button to complete the process.
